Realistic skull and roses across chest and arm
Realism · Chest · Mixed · Photo
A large, shaded skull with a hat sits at the centre of the chest, surrounded by smoke-like grey washes, cracked lines and dark wing shapes. Red roses and small script lettering appear on the upper arm, and further tattoo work extends down the opposite sleeve. The rendering uses soft, detailed shading for the skull, with bold black strokes and some colour in the roses.

Her grandfather had told her about the Hat-Man, a grey fellow who walked the lanes between the village and the burial field and knocked at bakery doors when the flour ran low. He never asked for money. He asked for the burnt end of the loaf, and if you gave it to him he left the door latched and the dough would rise. Marta had always thought it nonsense, the sort of thing grandfathers said to keep children away from the river.
Then, one February dawn, the knock came. She opened the door. The man on the step wore a hat, and smoke curled off him like the breath of a banked fire. He held out a cold, empty hand. She took the blackest crust from the tray and put it in his palm. He nodded at the cracked oven, then at the sky, and she understood he meant the miller's son had gone to the field the night before.
She baked his burnt crust into every loaf after that. The village said her bread had a bitter edge, and nobody complained, because it kept.
