Heart, rose and sonic screwdrivers on back
Traditional · Back · Colour · Photo
A red heart sits at the centre, crossed by two grey sonic screwdrivers and framed by a yellow rose, a blue flower and green leaves. Two scroll banners carry text: one reads "All of time and space" and the other "Allons-y". Bold black outlines, smooth colour shading and a close, symmetrical composition give the design a classic, clean look on the skin.

Dear Tomas, you will not believe what came up the Saltgate road on Tuesday, though I suppose you would believe it better than the rest of Harrowmere did. The Mender walked in with his coat full of brass and his two grey rods, the ones that hum like bees in a jar. Mother took one look at his boots and shut the bakehouse door, but Old Pell fetched him in for the bell at St Ysolde's, which has not rung true since the flood.

He worked through the night with the lamp wick turned low. I held the lantern for him, and he talked the whole time, mostly to the rods. Every so often he pointed one at the cracked bronze and it sang a note that made the milk jugs rattle along the shelf, and he laughed as though someone had told him a joke he had heard before and liked anyway. Near dawn the bell rang clean across the marsh, and every gull lifted off the mudflats at once.
When the sun came up he was gone, leaving only a scorch mark on the churchyard wall in the shape of a small open door. Under the bell rope he had left a scrap of paper with one word written in careful ink: Allons-y. I have asked three people what it means and none of them know. I have decided it means keep going, which seems the sort of thing a man like that would want written under a bell.
Write me back soon, and tell me whether the Mender has been seen in Bellmarch yet.
