Guitar, roses and Music Forever banner
Realism · Calf · Black and grey · Photo
A guitar body and neck sit at the centre of this design, with two shaded roses on either side and a curled banner across the lower half reading Music Forever. The linework is clean and the body of the guitar, roses and banner use soft grey shading to create depth. The tattoo is in black and grey only and fills the frame against a plain skin background.

When the pass opened he left before dawn. The guitar stayed, propped against the glass case beside the flapjacks, with a note saying he would be back for it in spring. Spring came and went. Autumn brought a woman from the valley town with his photograph and a van that smelt of diesel. She didn't take the guitar. She asked me to keep it, and I still tune it on quiet nights when the wind comes over the top and rattles the urn.
