Horror flash sheet in black ink
Black and grey · Flash
A sheet of black ink flash showing a grid of horror-themed designs, including a vampire head, a clawed glove, two figures in long and short dresses, a book with a face emerging from its pages, a grinning mask and a creature with a scaly body. The linework is fine and detailed, with dense hatching and stippling for shadow, and there is no colour. The designs are arranged separately across the sheet, each on its own with open space around it, with the phrase BON APPÉTIT placed between the figures and the mask.

She did not like the way he looked at the girls who carried his water. Her sister Nell was ten and wore the blue dress for Sundays. The other one, Mab, whom nobody had counted since the avalanche, still came down the back stairs in her grey nightgown with her hair falling across her face. Ida set the bread on the table and did not look at either of them.
Varga ate slowly, drawing a thumb along the rim of his glass. When the plate came back nearly clean he laughed through his teeth. "Good. Tell the cook I want her to stay for the pudding."
Ida went down to the cellar and came up with the old carving knife and a jar of her mother's plum preserve, and she spent the rest of the night at the range, stirring. In the morning the cart was gone and the snow on the pass lay unmarked, except for two small sets of footprints walking back up towards the ridge. Mab's grey nightgown was folded on the bottom stair. Ida opened the guest book, found Varga's name, and wrote beneath it in her own careful hand: Paid in full.
