Roll Tide script and Crimson Tide elephant
Lettering · Forearm · Mixed · Photo
The left photo shows the words Roll Tide in a black, flowing script with fine, even linework on the forearm or wrist. The right photo shows a red block letter A with a detailed grey and black elephant on it, and a CRIMSON TIDE banner across the bottom, on a calf. Both tattoos are solid, clearly defined designs, shown against plain skin backgrounds.

Dear Ray,

Mum has finally let the pennant go. I found it folded inside the Christmas box, the red A gone soft at the corners and the elephant faded to the colour of wet cardboard. You'll remember it hung over the cooker for twenty years and nobody was allowed to dust it. I've pinned it above the kettle now, where it can keep an eye on the tea.
Your Kieran turned nine on Saturday and wanted a cake shaped like a stadium. The baker on Market Street made it with grey icing for the stands and a sugar elephant the size of a thumb, which Kieran insisted must be carried to the table by hand. He's been practising the chant all week, Roll Tide, though he thinks it means you should roll your sleeves up before a fight. I haven't corrected him. It seemed a fair reading of your last phone call.
The van needs a new exhaust and the garage wants two hundred quid we haven't got, so if you could see your way to posting something before the wedding, I won't ask what for. Mum says she'll forgive the silence if you come home in March and sit in the front room where she can see your face.
Kieran has written the words on the steamed-up back window of the van in his own big letters, and when the rain runs through them they look like they're melting into the road. Come and see it before the weather takes them.
Love, Sal
