Dog portrait and peonies on both thighs
Neo-trad · Thigh · Mixed · Photo
Two matching tattoos cover the outer thighs, each showing a dog's face framed by large peony and rose blooms in red, pink and orange. The dog portraits are shaded in greys and browns, while the flowers and green leaves use bold black outlines and bright colour. The legs are photographed from above in a white bath, with the tattoos filling the lower half of each thigh.

Dear Maureen,

You'll think I've gone soft, but I've been up since five with the peonies. Mr Okonedo's order came in for the Saturday wedding at St Agnes, forty stems of coral and blush, and the wholesaler sent the last of the dark red ones with the petals already browning at the edges. I stood in the cold room with the door propped open, and Biscuit sat on my foot the whole time, because that dog won't budge unless the fridge is open. I thought, well, these will have to do.
The pair of them have followed me round the shop since Dennis went. Biscuit is the grey one, with a muzzle the colour of wet slate, and Pudsey is the brown one who snores like a bellows under the counter. They were always Dennis's, and now they look at me like I'm the one who owes them a walk.
The bride rang on Thursday asking for something a bit wilder than the usual roses. I told her peonies do exactly what they like. She came in yesterday, cried at the buckets, and then asked if I could make a small bouquet for her gran, who can't travel, one stem of everything on the order. I said yes before I'd thought about it.
I've set aside the best red bloom and a spare coral one on the shelf by Dennis's chair. Pudsey has already claimed the strip of sun across the lino, so they'll go in the back room with the dogs' water bowl. Write soon, and tell me Ray's knee is behaving.
Love, Pat
