Four-line poem script on upper back
Lettering · Back · Black and grey · Photo
A photograph of four lines of black cursive script tattooed across the upper back, close to the shoulder blade. The lines read as a light-hearted poem, with the final line set on its own and the text is sharp and evenly weighted against the skin. The background shows a bright pink wall with pinned posters, and only the back and shoulder are in frame.

My name's Dave, which I thought you should have in writing in case the postcard I sent in March got lost somewhere between here and Ohio. I was going to tell you the poem was about you, but the truth is it was about the cactus, and the cactus is not much of a romantic.

Microwave. That is where I was going with it. The microwave in the corner gave a ping just as I reached the rhyme I wanted, and I have been staring at the word ever since, the way you stare at a sign you know is pointing somewhere. I am going to eat the pie while it is hot, and you are not here to tell me to slow down. Love, Dave.
