Matching anchor tattoos with twin 1 and twin 2
Lettering · Ankle · Black and grey · Photo
Two ankles are shown side by side, each with a small black anchor tattoo paired with script reading twin 1 on the left and twin 2 on the right. The linework is bold and even, filled in solid black with no shading or colour. A coloured woven anklet sits on the right ankle, and the soft focus background shows red bedding.

You'll remember the anchor Dad drew on the back of the chandlery bill, the one we both wanted and he wouldn't let us have until we were sixteen. Well, Mr Pascoe at the parlour in Torquay said he'd do it for half price if we sat still, and we didn't, so he charged us full and gave us a lollipop each. I still have mine in a tin with the bus tickets. The word twin went on in his curly script, with the number after, so nobody could ever mix us up at the regatta again, though I expect they still do.
I'm enclosing a photograph of mine next to yours, the way they looked on the bedspread that night, because I thought you'd like to see how the ink settled. Yours is the one with the rainbow thread from Sophie. Come home at Easter. The boat's still in the mud and I need someone to tell me which end of the tiller is which.
Your sister, always the one on the left, Jo
