Realistic blood splatter tattoo on a lower leg
Realism · Calf · Colour · Photo
The tattoo shows a red splash of liquid with several drips running downwards and a spray of small droplets spreading outwards. The shading uses deep red tones with lighter highlights to give the splatter a glossy, three-dimensional look. It sits on the lower leg above a blue sock and shoe, with the composition centred on the drips and the surrounding skin left plain.

Old Mab Tinker kept the cider press at the bottom of Sheep Lane, and she had one rule for the late apples: nobody picked the Scarlet Tom until the wasps had gone quiet. Her grandson Ned broke it in the third week of September, when the light lay long and yellow across the grass and the fruit hung low enough to touch. He filled his cap with them and ran down the rows, and behind him the windfalls split open on the stones and bled their juice into the dust.

Mab saw the stains from her doorway. They spread like spilt paint, dark and glossy, and no amount of water would lift them. By evening the lane looked as though something had been killed there, and the children would not walk past it after dark. Ned scrubbed until his knuckles were raw, and still the red came up through the cobbles every time it rained.
So Mab did what her mother had done. She took a jug of the first pressing, carried it up to the Scarlet Tom and poured it slowly around its roots, saying the name of every person in the village who had ever been careless in the orchard. It took her until dusk. When she finished, she sat down on the wall and waited for the wasps to start again.
In the morning the stains were gone from the lane, but a spray of small red drops had settled on the wall where she had sat, and Ned swore a single ripe apple had dropped onto his shoe without anyone touching the branch. He never picked early again. The tree, they say, still gives its fruit only after the wasps have gone quiet, and nobody has ever asked it why.
