The dodgems caught fire on Tuesday, which is how I know the new lad, Corrie, is worth keeping. She sat with me in the caravan and said the ruin and the mending both come out of the same person, which I didn't want to hear. I told her I'd had enough of people who speak in riddles. She just laughed and said the riddle was the only honest thing on the field. Then she asked after you, and I realised I had nothing to tell her.

We open at Frome on the twelfth. Come if you can. I'll keep the seat at the top of the wheel, the one you used to make me stop for so you could see the whole field lit up like a spilt tray of coins.
