Six UFO and alien flash designs on paper
Fine line · Black and grey · Flash
A flash sheet of six black ink drawings of tattoo designs on cream paper, with a red ribbon bookmark along the left edge. The designs include a UFO over mountains and pine trees, a UFO among clouds inside a dotted circle, a banner reading Scully and Aliens, a UFO above a hatched beam, a floral wreath around the words Trust No One, and a stippled diamond holding a moon, a UFO and waves above a Believe banner. The linework is clean and even, with hatching, stippling and dotwork used for shading.

Dear Nell, I'm writing this on the back of the order of service because the seating plan has run out of room and Uncle Terry has claimed the only decent pen. The reception is in a converted barn outside Hereford, with fairy lights strung across the rafters in a way that should look ridiculous and somehow doesn't. Gwen wanted a wreath of flowers on every table with TRUST NO ONE written in the middle, and the florist took it as a personal challenge to make it look like a funeral notice. Gwen just laughed and said it was the first thing she and Dan ever agreed on.

Dan read his vows from a card with a little saucer-shaped spaceship doodled in one corner, which he swore was a mistake. He promised to believe in her, even on the nights she was right about the neighbours' cat being a government spy. Her dad gave a speech that was mostly about how he'd never been able to get past the first episode of anything Dan had ever recommended, and then he raised his glass to the pair of them. The best man's banner joke, SCULLY, ALIENS!, got a bigger laugh than the wedding breakfast ever did.
During the first dance the barn lights dimmed, and somebody at the back, I think it was the vicar's nephew, said there was a light moving over the hayfield. We all trooped out in our good shoes. It was only a Chinese lantern drifting up from the next farm, turning slowly against the stars, but for a few seconds nobody spoke. Gwen grabbed Dan's hand and said, quite seriously, "Well, Mulder?" and he pulled her in close and said he'd still prefer the truth to the story. Love, Ruth.
