WALL-E and EVE ankle tattoos

Ankle · Colour · Photo

Two cartoon robots from the film WALL-E are tattooed on the ankles, with EVE on the left and WALL-E on the right, each with a small red heart nearby. The bold outlines and flat fills in grey, blue, rust and white give the pair a clean, illustrative look. The two designs sit side by side on the skin, with the photograph showing both feet against a plain background.

He had no words for it, so he showed it what he had. Under the flyover, where the rain never reached, he kept a cracked kettle with its lid propped open, and in the kettle a single shoot of green that he watered each evening from a bottle he carried in his chest. He lifted the lid. The white machine dipped close and scanned the leaf for a long time, the way a woman reads a letter twice before she answers it.

Nothing in the city had grown since the last of the people left, and nothing had needed to. The white machine rose slowly until its light touched the painted arrows on the flyover, then came back down, and this time the light turned warm and red, the colour of a crossing signal coming on in the wet. It stayed beside the kettle until the streetlamps went grey.

At dawn they carried the kettle up the stairs of the car park, one climbing slowly, the other hovering at the rail. They set it on the roof where the sun would find it first. Below them the city lay quiet among its tin towers and dark windows, and the first sun found the leaf before it found anything else.
