White Rabbit with pocket watch on ribs
Neo-trad · Ribs · Colour · Photo
A rabbit character in a striped red and white jacket and waistcoat stands on a brown rabbit body, holding a gold pocket watch on a chain. The linework is bold and dark, with soft shading on the fur and clothing and green grass at the base. Strong, saturated colour is used throughout, and the design wraps along the side of the torso.

"You're late," she told it, though it was never the rabbit that was late. It was the fair that ran behind, always a field or two short of where the posters said it would be, and the rabbit had the watch to prove it. The gold case lay open on its knee, its hands stuck at a quarter past nine.
Mr Vane had bought the watch off a man in Lincoln who swore it kept the time of wherever you last slept. Nell had never believed him. But when she sat down in the grass beside the rabbit and asked, quite seriously, where they were going next, the hands gave a tiny shiver and crept forward to twenty past.
She wound the crown the way her grandfather had shown her, three turns, slow. Behind them the rides began to sigh and creak, and the big lorries started up one after another like a row of matches catching. The rabbit stood, buttoned itself straight, and hopped towards the trailers. Nell followed with the watch ticking loudly in her palm, and for once nobody was waiting on them.
