Arrows with script names on the ribs
Fine line · Ribs · Black and grey · Photo
Three fine line arrows run across the side of the ribs, with two names written in script on the upper and lower arrows and a small heart on the centre arrow. The linework is delicate and even, with light grey shading on the feathered fletching. The design is in black ink only and is shown against pale skin and a black bandeau top.

Dear Mags,
Keep reading
I nearly didn't come to the reunion, so I'm glad I did, even if Mr Pryce still couldn't place my surname and the sausage rolls were cold. What I keep thinking about is the archery shed behind the sports hall, and the bale of straw we pinned our targets to. You, me and Joanne Tilling, on the same rota every Thursday, until the year the school sold the bows.
Joanne was the one who hit gold every time, and she never once mentioned it. She'd nock her arrow, breathe out slowly and say the same thing before she loosed: "Go where you're sent." I used to think it was a bit grand for a girl with a plaster on her thumb. Then in the car park on Friday she told me she'd kept the three arrows we'd broken that last term, and had them drawn out in ink somewhere she could only see in the mirror, with names beside them.
I'm not going to tell you whose names. You'll know them anyway. What struck me was that she'd put the heart on the centre shaft, not for herself but for the one who'd been left lying on the straw the longest, the one none of us ever spoke about. I hadn't known she'd been carrying that all these years.
I told her I'd write, so consider this my first shot in twenty-odd years. Bring the good bow next time, and I'll bring the straw.
Love, Priya
