Curled cat on upper back
Fine line · Back · Black and grey · Photo
A small outline tattoo of a cat curled up with its tail raised over its back, drawn with thin grey linework. The cat's head is tucked down and the body is shaded lightly in grey wash. The tattoo sits alone in the centre of the frame against warm, tanned skin with a teal top at the bottom edge.

'She'll shift when the flowers come,' said Ruth, who was pinning buttonholes to a tray with the grim patience of someone who had promised her sister a perfect Saturday. 'She always does for lilies.'
Margaret did not believe her. The sisters had been squabbling over the church for three days, over the flowers, the hymns, and whether their grandmother could be trusted with the cake. Only Tabitha seemed content, tucked tight in the middle of all that noise, her head pressed down so that nothing showed but the curve of her back and that one stubborn tail.
When the lilies finally came, the cat did not stir. The florist's boy set the buckets down and tiptoed. Margaret watched Ruth's face soften, and for the first time that week the two sisters stood shoulder to shoulder without arguing. Ruth lifted the cat with both hands. Tabitha stretched, yawned, and walked straight across the altar cloth, leaving a dusting of grey fur on the white linen.
'Well,' said Margaret. 'That's the wedding sorted, then.'
