Doctor Who tribute tattoo flash design
Traditional · Colour · Flash
A woman with shoulder-length blonde hair stands centrally in an open blue police box doorway, with a globe and a spotlight-like glow behind her. Around her are a Dalek, a sonic screwdriver, a gas mask, 3D glasses, a key and a red rose, all framed by a ribbon banner reading BAD WOLF. Bold dark outlines, warm browns and gold, and teal and red accents give it a vintage flash-sheet look.

A story inspired by this tattoo · fiction
The blue box came up on the back of a lorry from Margate, wedged between a broken fruit machine and a crate of Bakelite telephones. Mrs Okonedo at the auction house swore it had stood in a bungalow garden since 1974, with a red rose bush growing through the door and the padlock rusted shut. I paid forty pounds for it because the lot sheet said contents unknown, and I have never once taken a lot sheet at its word.

Inside, the cupboard was full of small, deliberate things. A gas mask sat in a Huntley and Palmers tin with a ration book. A pair of cardboard 3D glasses from the Regal in Ramsgate were folded beside a brass key with a paper tag that read RING TWICE. Under the grille of the floor, behind a loose board, was a tin figure the size of a milk bottle with one plunger arm bent back, as if it had been trying to reach something on the other side of the wall. Someone had scratched BAD WOLF into the lid of a biscuit tin in capitals, and then, beneath it, a smaller line: keep the light on.
I meant to sell the lot by Friday. Instead I sat on the top step with the glasses on, watching the harbour through the open door. The gulls were ordinary gulls. The tide came in at the usual time. Only the light from the Ramsgate pier, when it swung round, seemed to fold itself up neatly and vanish before it reached the glass, the way a letter folds itself into an envelope.
I rang Mrs Okonedo that evening and asked if the rose bush had come with the box. She said it had gone to the tip in 1978, and then she asked why I wanted to know. I told her I'd like it back, and she laughed as if I had made a joke, and I did not correct her.
