Geometric triangle and band logo on a forearm
Geometric · Forearm · Mixed · Photo
A large triangle built from nested black lines and smaller triangles surrounds a circle containing a red stylised logo, with the words twentyonepilots in black lettering beneath. The linework is bold and even, with small red dots and red accents against the black ink. The tattoo is centred on the forearm, with a red knitted sleeve at the bottom edge of the frame and a small line-drawn tattoo at the upper left.

Mab Corrigan had planted the three hedges the spring her husband stopped speaking to the bees, and by midsummer she could walk the triangle with her eyes shut. The outer hedge was yew, dark and even as a ruled line. Inside it ran a second of box, then a third of privet no higher than a child's knee, and every one of them met the next at a clean angle, because her husband had insisted on a set square and she had never once argued with a set square.

At the centre sat a round bed of white roses and a stone sundial with no shadow on it. Mab did not trust the sundial. She trusted the roses, which opened only when the wind came from the west, and she trusted the small red poppies she scattered at each corner, one for every year she had kept the garden alone.
On the first frost, a stranger came up the lane with a dog that would not cross the gate. He wanted the house, he said, or the bell that was supposed to hang in the yew. Mab told him there was no bell. He looked past her at the nested lines and smiled as though he had been told a joke he had heard before. "You've kept it well," he said. "Most people let the middle grow over."
Mab went in and fetched the shears. By dusk the box had been cut back to the stone, and the sundial showed a shadow at last, sharp as a blade and pointing at nothing she could name. In the morning the stranger was gone, and the dog was sitting at the gate, waiting for her to open it.
