Howling wolf tribal design
Black and grey · Flash
The image shows a stylised wolf head in profile, with its muzzle raised and mouth open as if howling. The design is built from bold black shapes with sharp, tapering edges, and flowing tribal-style lines form the neck, ruff and eye area. It is rendered in solid black on white with no greys or colour.

Up there the bracken grows higher than a man's shoulder and the pines lean in like gossips. She walked until the lantern guttered, and then she saw them: two green eyes, then a third, then a ring of them moving between the trunks like sparks thrown off a bonfire. The grey leader stepped onto the path and sat on its haunches, unhurried, and it lifted its muzzle to the sky and opened its jaws wide.
Now, the villagers say that wolf howled the name of every family who had ever cut a tree on that hill. Cruel, you think? Not so. It was calling the lost ones home, the way a shepherd calls a flock. Edith heard her brother's name in that howl, sharp as a splinter, and she heard the valley answer, a dozen doors opening below.
Her brother came down the hill that night with the wolves at his heels, and not one of them touched him. Some say the grey leader was their grandfather come back to keep watch. I say it was only a wolf, and wolves know the way down better than we do.
