Infinity symbol with treble clefs
Fine line · Black and grey · Flash
The design shows a single infinity symbol drawn in thin, even black linework, with a treble clef curling through the right-hand loop. Two larger treble clefs hang beneath it, one smaller and one taller, rendered as solid black strokes with open curls. The image is a flat, high-contrast drawing on a white background with no skin visible.

The hull has stopped humming again, so I am writing this by the galley lamp, which Ines says is the last one we can spare until the reactor cycles. Dear Teodor, you asked in your last message whether the choir still meets. It does, though we are six now, and Mrs Okonkwo sings the alto line alone because nobody else can hold the pitch in the cold.

On the forward deck there is a viewing panel the children call the Loop, because the stars there seem to wheel round one bright ring. Last week I carried the old songbook up there, the one with the wax-stained cover, and found the page we always skipped: a round in three parts, marked to repeat without end. We sang it through once, and when the lights dimmed nobody moved to stop us, so we sang it again.
The founders painted those tall clefs on the bulkhead when they lettered the crew names, the ones with open curls that look like they are tumbling down a staircase. Beatrix says a line on a page is nothing until someone breathes it, and that the clefs are only the doors. I laughed at her, but she was right, and I have started copying them into the margins of the log.
When the reactor comes back I will take the songbook to the Loop and read you the last line over the link, slowly, the way you taught me. Keep the page turned down for me. Love, Ada.
