Leg tattoos with pin-up and script
Traditional · Calf · Mixed · Photo
A back view of a bare leg against a plain white background, covered in tattoos from the upper leg to the ankle. A colour pin-up woman with red lips and dark hair sits on the calf beside a dagger-like ornament, while black and grey script and linework fill the upper leg and outer thigh. Red platform heels frame the lower part of the shot, and the bold colour accents contrast with the greyscale lettering.

One Thursday a stranger came in out of the wet carrying a pair of red heeled shoes wrapped in brown paper. He said they were not for sale. He said they had been walking the wrong way for a hundred years and needed a woman who knew where the road ran out. Hannah took them, because the paper was soaked through and she had never once turned away a customer in the rain.
That night the rain stopped for the first time in a month. Hannah woke to the sound of heels on the cobbles, click and click, going down towards the river. In the morning the board was bare, the painted woman gone from it, and a line of small wet prints ran from the stall to the water, each one stamped with a red heel. Someone had chalked across the canvas in careful capitals: SHE WENT THE LONG WAY ROUND.
