Love is enough script on an arm
Fine line · Forearm · Black and grey · Photo
The tattoo shows the words love is enough in a thin, continuous cursive script, with the word is set smaller between the two longer words. The linework is single-weight black ink with no shading, and it sits on pale skin under warm, soft lighting. The composition is a tight crop of the arm, with the lettering running diagonally across the frame.

Dear Hal,

The hall still smells of floor polish and warm sausage rolls, and I still spent the first hour searching the name badges for you. Mrs Pryce would have laughed at me. You were never one for lanyards.
I found the bus ticket last night, the one you pressed into my hand outside the chemistry lab in the summer of 1987. On the back, in the looping ink you borrowed from your dad, you had written love is enough, then crossed out the is, then put it back in. I thought it was a joke. You said it was a sentence with the full stop missing.
At the reunion Gary told me you're a vet in Shrewsbury with three dogs and a wife who sings in a choir. Good. I mean that. I stood by the raffle table for ages deciding whether to say something, and in the end I just ate a sausage roll and watched the caretaker dance with the head girl.
I'm posting this with the ticket tucked inside, because it was never mine to keep. Wherever you are, the full stop is in place now. Tell the dogs I said hello.
Yours, Ruth
