Matching text tattoos on two forearms
Fine line · Forearm · Black and grey · Photo
Two arms rest side by side, each carrying a small block of thin black capital lettering. The left arm reads GIRL ALMIGHTY in two lines on the forearm, and the right arm reads SHE'S NOT AFRAID in three lines on the upper arm. The linework is fine and even, with no shading, set against soft natural skin tones and a grey fabric in the background.

The lift in Kestrel House had been dead since Tuesday, so you carried the shopping up nineteen floors with Dani swearing at every landing. Halfway up, on the eleventh, she stopped to fight a split bag handle and you saw the words someone had written in biro on the wall beside the fire door: GIRL ALMIGHTY, in capitals that leaned like they were running for a bus.

Dani said it was Mrs Okafor's grandson, the one caught on the stairwell camera with a bike he hadn't paid for. You didn't believe her. Nobody on the eleventh wrote anything that brave. But on the next landing, under the window where the glass was cracked, there was a second line, smaller and more careful: SHE'S NOT AFRAID. Dani laughed so hard she dropped an orange, and you both listened to it bump all the way down to the ground floor.
By the time you reached your flat, you had decided the words belonged to someone who lived up there and was tired of being small about things. You found the marker in the junk drawer and copied them onto the back of a cereal box, same spacing, same stubborn lean, then taped it to the lift doors on the ground floor where everyone would have to read it while they waited.
The lift came back on Friday. Nobody had fixed it, the power just returned on its own. The cardboard was still there, curling at one corner, and someone had added a small arrow in pencil pointing up the stairwell. When the doors opened, the car was empty and humming, as if it had been waiting to be asked.
