Mickey ears dreamcatcher with Disney charms on a thigh
Neo-trad · Thigh · Colour · Photo
A Mickey Mouse head outline forms a dreamcatcher hoop, with a dark castle silhouette and small fireworks bursts across the ears. Feathers, a wizard hat, a genie lamp, cutlery, a red polka dot bow, a red apple and a rose hang from the hoop. Bold black outlines are paired with bright colour fills and soft shading, and the design fills the frame against a leather chair.

A story inspired by this tattoo · fiction
Each autumn the keeper of the toll house at Scarrow Gap hung a dreamcatcher over her door. Its hoop was black iron bent round like a pair of big ears, and from its rim she tied feathers, a tin wizard's hat with silver stars, a brass lamp with a long spout, a fork, a knife, a red spotted bow and a red apple. Travellers stopped to look at it before they paid the toll, because the valley people said it caught whatever a man carried over the pass in his sleep.

A carter called Tobiah Fenn came over in the first snow with a cart of salt and a head full of debts. He laughed at the hoop and said it looked like a child's toy. The keeper, Agnes Rook, only asked him to sleep one night under her roof before he went on. He did, and in the small hours he dreamed of a castle on a hill, lit by fireworks as bright as bruises, and a voice calling his name from inside the lamp.
When he woke the cart was still there but the salt had turned to sand, and the knife was gone from the hoop. Agnes did not seem surprised. She set a loaf on the table and said the lamp only took what a man least wanted to keep. Tobiah asked what he had given it. She pointed at the rose at the bottom of the hoop, which had not been there the night before and was red as a fresh cut.
He went down the far side of the pass with the cart light and his pockets empty, and he never again laughed at a dreamcatcher. Agnes hung a new knife on the hoop the next autumn, bent a little at the tip, as though someone had tried to take the old one down and thought better of it.
