Script lettering reading it is well
Lettering · Black and grey · Flash
The image shows the phrase it is well written in flowing, joined-up cursive script in black ink on a plain white background. The linework is fine and even, with a slight variation in stroke weight and a small tail extending from the final letters. There is no colour, shading or body part visible, so it reads as a drawn design or stencil rather than a photograph of skin.

You wrote that the ward was quiet now and that Mrs Pryce had finally stopped asking for her husband. You wrote that you had not slept, but that it is well, and you underlined the well twice, the way you always did when you wanted me to stop worrying.

I stood outside the hospital gates until the night porter came out to smoke, and he asked if I was waiting for someone. I said I was waiting for the sky to make up its mind about the rain. He laughed and told me the rain had already made up its mind and it was in favour of me being soaked. I gave him the last of my tobacco for the joke, which was a poor exchange, but he seemed pleased with it.
I climbed the back stairs to the third floor because nobody locks the fire door there. The corridor smelled of carbolic and oranges. Your name was still chalked on the board by the sluice room in your neat, slanting hand, and beneath it someone had drawn a small bird with a long tail. I rubbed at it with my thumb and it did not come away. It is well, I told the empty corridor, and for once I believed the sentence all the way through to the end.
