Wristwatch tattoo with matching strap
Realism · Forearm · Black and grey · Photo
A realistic wristwatch is tattooed on the forearm near the wrist, shown in two side-by-side photographs. The left view shows the watch face with shaded metal bezel and repeated NOW lettering around the dial, while the right view shows the link strap and clasp. Soft grey shading and fine highlights give the metal a three-dimensional finish against the skin.

Then came the winter the lifeboat went out and did not come back. A young fellow from the third room came down before dawn, wanting to walk to the harbour in the dark. She caught his sleeve at the door, turned his wrist over, and read his own watch, which said a quarter past five and was ten minutes slow. She set it right by the scullery clock and held his hand a moment longer than she needed to. "Wait for the light," she said.
He waited. By the time the grey came up over the breakwater, the boat was being towed in, and nobody had gone down the steps.
