Colour tattoo on the outer leg of a green alien making a hand gesture beside a UFO beaming up a pink creature, with sparkles, pine trees and the words STAY WEIRD below.

Alien and UFO tattoo with Stay Weird lettering

Traditional · Other · Colour · Photo

A green alien with large dark eyes makes a hand gesture at the centre of the design, beside a silver UFO with a glowing orange beam lifting a pink animal figure. Four-pointed sparkles, asterisks and small pine trees fill the background, and the words STAY WEIRD sit in bold black capitals along the bottom. The bold black outlines and soft blended shading in green, blue, orange and pink give it a traditional style look.

A story inspired by this tattoo · fiction

The fat was already smoking when the porthole turned green, and you looked up to find the lid of the stockpot hovering a foot above the hob, rattling as if it had an opinion. Outside, a saucer the size of a lifeboat sat on the swell with its underside spitting a column of orange light onto the aft deck, where Mr Pargeter's pig had been asleep in its crate since Oban. You had been promised that animal would be the centre of Sunday's dinner, and it was already rising past the rail, four trotters kicking politely.

The thing that came down the companionway was about four foot tall and the green of a bottle of Fairy liquid, with eyes like wet olives and a mouth that looked permanently surprised. It studied the pan, then you, then the pork pie you had been shaping on the board. It raised one hand and folded two fingers down, thumb and little finger out, the same salute the lads on the trawler used to flash at the radio when Thin Lizzy came on. Then it winked, which you had not expected from something with no eyelids to speak of, and the light took the pig up through the hatch in a soft orange hum.

You stood there with a wooden spoon for a long while. When the galley clock ticked round to six, you took the chalk and wrote the day's log on the blackboard: pig lost, lid misbehaving, tea late. Then you lit the hob again and went back to the pastry.

In the morning the crate was empty, the deck was dry, and a pork pie sat on the chart table, golden and still warm, with a small hand-drawn star pressed into the crust. Beside it someone had left a scrap of paper that read, in careful capitals, STAY WEIRD.
