Casino forearm tattoo with dice and aces

Realism · Forearm · Black and grey · Photo

A forearm tattoo shows a casino scene with a Welcome to Fabulous Carencro Louisiana sign, dice, poker chips, playing cards with an ace of spades, and a roulette wheel. The shading is smooth and the cards and dice have strong highlights and depth. Everything is rendered in black and grey, with an All In script banner across the middle of the composition.

Mae Thibodeaux had dealt cards in the back room of the Lucky Heron since she was nineteen, and she knew a man bluffing by the way he straightened his cuff. The night Dell Broussard came in off the highway, his cuff was straight as a ruler and his fingers would not stop moving over the felt. He wanted the roulette wheel, not the cards, and he wanted it before the neon sign out front went dark at two.

He bet the truck first, then his boots, then a gold ring he said had belonged to his grandmother. Mae watched the little ivory ball skip across the slats like a moth at a window. Each spin the room got quieter, and the dice men at the far table stopped rolling to listen. Somebody's chips rattled off the edge of the bar and nobody bent to pick them up.

When Dell pushed his last stack onto red and sat back, Mae laid the ace of spades face up on the baize, the way her father had taught her to show a hand was finished. "All in," she said, and it was not a question. The wheel clicked, slowed, and settled on black. Dell laughed once, a dry sound, and walked out into the car park with nothing but the clothes he came in.

Mae swept the chips into the tray and found the grandmother's ring still in her palm. She had palmed it off the table before the second spin, not him, and she had never once in twenty years told anybody which side of the felt had really been moving. She slid the ring onto her own finger, squared the deck, and called the next player to the table.
