Fine line script tattoo on upper thigh

Fine line · Thigh · Black and grey · Photo

A single line of cursive script runs diagonally across the skin, with only part of the wording visible because the frame cuts it off at both ends. The linework is thin and even, in solid black ink with no shading. The soft white lace fabric at the top of the frame and the warm, low light give the photo a calm, natural feel.

She pushed the letter into a crack beneath the ledge, where the sea wind could not reach it, and set a grey stone on top to hold it there.

Four days later the stone had been moved. The letter was gone. In its place lay a single sheet in a hand she knew at once, written in pencil and cut short where the paper had torn: Je ne suis pas parti. Je te dirai la mer
