Fund-raising tattoo flash sheet with assorted designs
Traditional · Mixed · Flash
A sheet of around forty separate tattoo designs arranged in a grid on a white background, covering animals, insects, flowers, hearts, fish, cherubs and a sun with a face. Most designs use bold outlines with flat, solid colour fills, and a few are black silhouettes such as a butterfly and a seahorse. The sheet is captioned Fund-raising Tattoos Sheet 1 and has no body placement.
Take it to an artist as a reference. A good artist will make it yours rather than copy someone else's tattoo.
A story inspired by this tattoo · fiction
Dear Maureen, the summer fête has finally finished, and I am writing with my feet up and a cup of tea going cold beside me. The tombola ran dry by half two, and Gerald Pryce sold the last raffle ticket to himself, so I suppose he has won the bottle of sherry at last. But you'll want to hear about the tattoo table, because Pat Dunmore got her sheet printed after all, and it went down a treat.

The Fund-raising Tattoos sheet was pinned to the marquee pole with four drawing pins, and by eleven the children were lined up three deep. Everyone wanted the swallows, naturally, and the unicorn went quickly to a girl in wellies who said it looked as though it had been to the seaside. Nobody wanted the seahorse until a small boy called Tobias Wren climbed onto a crate to study it. He had fifty pence in a jam jar and the serious expression of a magistrate, and he asked for the sun with the face on it.
Pat told him the sun on the sheet had its eyes shut. He said it was winking in his head, and it would have to wink on the paper or it wouldn't count. So she damped the transfer with a cotton pad, pressed it down, and counted to thirty while he held his breath. When he peeled it away and held it up to the light, the sun was winking at him, one eye screwed tight and the other wide open.
Pat swears she has never once managed a wink in sixty years of pinning up flash, and she is taking the sheet home to try again. I told her the sun has been winking at people since the beginning of time, and she said that was no help at all.
