Pixel art Mega Man on upper arm
Upper arm · Colour · Photo
A blue pixel art figure of Mega Man, the video game robot, is shown in a running pose with its arm cannon extended to the right. The design is built from visible square pixels, with shading in lighter and darker blues, a red detail on the helmet and a small area of skin tone on the face. The tattoo sits on the outer upper arm against a plain skin background, with a dark blue sleeve edge at the top of the frame.

Thursday I opened the back panel with Eddie holding the torch, and found the sprite had worked loose from its frame. It was standing on the circuit board, blinking, one arm cannon aimed at the coin slot as if it had been waiting all week for someone to give it a reason.
"Right then," Eddie said, which is what he says when he is frightened and would rather not be.
We built it a ramp from a cigarette packet and a strip of tin. It walked down in squares, each step a little clumsy, shading from light blue to dark as it crossed the sawdust. Mr Pell came in with his tea and said nothing for almost a minute, which for him is a speech. It went out the side door and along the prom, leaving a trail of small blue tiles that the gulls would not walk on. At the end of the pier it stopped, turned its helmet to the sea, and fired once at nothing I could see. Then it stopped being pixels and was just a square of blue paint on the boards, the size of a hand.
Mr Pell has left it there. Says the tide will have it by Easter. I've put the cabinet back together and it runs fine. Nobody has asked me to explain the coin count, and I haven't offered.
