Realistic kitten tattoo on the lower back

Realism · Back · Black and grey · Photo

A small kitten walks across the lower back, shown in three-quarter view with its tail raised and head turned slightly toward the viewer. The shading is soft and detailed, with fine fur texture on the head, body and paws and a light grey wash that gives the figure depth. The tattoo is in black and grey ink and sits off-centre on the skin, with plain background and a dark waistband framing it.

That's Biscuit on the windowsill, so mind your tea, Mr Oddy, because she'll have your biscuit before you've turned round. Grey as the water off Hollin Point, tail up like a flag on a boat that's already sunk. My Albert found her under the chapel steps the winter the herring boats stopped coming in, no bigger than a teapot, and he put her inside his coat and said she'd keep the rats off the loaves. She never did. She kept the lodgers honest, which is worse.

The fog came in on the Thursday, thick as wet wool, and the coal lorry was late, and the two Penhale brothers had gone out on the sands after the low tide to dig for cockles. Nobody thought to count them. Biscuit went out through the back gate before anyone could stop her, and she walked ahead of the fog with her tail straight up, stopping every few yards to look back over her shoulder as if to say, keep up. So the landlady's girl pulled her boots on and followed the little grey shape along the wrack line, past the groyne, past the bell buoy that nobody could see, until they reached the brothers standing knee-deep and arguing about which way was the shore.

Albert always said the cat had no more sense of direction than a teacup. But the Penhales swore to their dying day that she walked the whole way with the tide at her heels and never once put a paw wrong. So when you see her on the sea wall with her tail up, don't call her in. Just follow, and mind the slippery step at the bottom, because she has never once warned anyone about it.
