Red lightning bolt on inner wrist
Traditional · Forearm · Mixed · Photo
A small lightning bolt tattoo sits on the inner forearm near the wrist, with the palm of the hand facing up and the fingers spread. The bolt is filled with solid red ink and has a thin blue outline on one edge, giving a slight offset shadow. The plain black backdrop keeps the focus on the simple, bold shape.

She reached the fourteenth floor just as the first bolt came down on the aerial array across the road. The flash turned the stairwell white, then the glass went red at its edges, and for a second the whole concrete shaft seemed to lean. Her son used to say lightning never struck the same place twice, but he also said the lift would be fixed by Friday, so she had stopped believing him on principle.
Behind her on the landing, the door of flat 14C stood open. Inside, the old wireless had been crackling since noon, and when the second strike hit, a blue ghost of the bolt jumped off the lamp and hung over the sofa like a held breath. Joan leaned her shoulder against the wall and felt the building hum through the plaster, as if something enormous were deciding whether to answer.
She did not go in. She set the trolley against the railing, found her own key, and left the hall light off so the storm could have the room it wanted.
