Script on ribs and skyline outline on neck
Fine line · Ribs · Black and grey · Photo
The left photograph shows a thin, cursive script tattoo running along the side of the ribs, partly covered by dark clothing. The right photograph shows the back of a neck with a black outlined skyline above a line of small, neat lettering that reads Turn to page 394. Both designs use single black linework with no shading, and the plain background keeps the focus on the ink.

"Turn to page 394," she read to him, and he laughed, because that was the line the author had insisted on printing at the foot of her first chapter, a joke about a reader who never finishes anything.
They found the original file at half past two in a folder named after a cat. The page was there, complete, every spire intact and every window lit. Margaret sat back and watched the streetlamps on the far bank flicker off one by one as the city went to sleep, and she thought about how much of a book is really just the place where someone agreed to keep reading.
