Suited figure with UFO and mountains on thigh

Neo-trad · Thigh · Colour · Photo

A bold coloured tattoo on the outer thigh shows a man in a dark suit and red tie, with his head replaced by a green and red UFO above pine trees and mountains. Clouds frame the figure, and the words DO YOU THINK I'M above and SPOOKY below complete the design. Heavy black outlines and flat, saturated colour give it a classic illustrative look.

A story inspired by this tattoo · fiction

The sheep was the fourth thing that morning Gerald Pell had been asked to write down, and he was tired of the word levitated. He stood in the Oddies' wet yard at Gleaston Fell with his claim form against his knee and his good grey suit going dark at the shoulders. Mrs Oddie had given him tea he hadn't asked for, and the sheep, Dorothy, was still hanging about four feet off the ground, chewing with great dignity.

The saucer came down over the wall at a quarter past eleven, low and quiet, its underside the colour of a tin tray left out in the rain. A hatch opened. A small grey person in a tabard stepped out, looked at Gerald's briefcase, and said, "You're the one they sent to find out if the Fell is spooky."

"I'm the one they sent about the sheep," Gerald said. "The policy doesn't cover tin hats, either."

The pilot explained, in a patient way, that they had come for the pine trees, which they had seen from very far off and thought beautiful, and that the mountains behind them were the best they had found in the whole of the spiral arm. Gerald wrote this down, because it was easier than arguing. In the end he signed the form under Cause of Loss: Visitors, admiring the view. Dorothy came gently down onto the wet grass, and the saucer lifted away over the pines, its green and red lights going soft in the cloud, and Gerald went back to the car with the tea still warm in him.
