Vulpix tattoo on a forearm
Forearm · Colour · Photo
A Vulpix, the orange fox-like Pokémon with a swirling multi-tail, is tattooed on the lower arm, shown from two angles. The outlines are dark and sketchy, with soft orange and yellow washes and splatter-like dots adding a loose watercolour effect. The fox fills most of the frame in the left photo, with the arm running across the image and a plain background behind it.

A story inspired by this tattoo · fiction
The fox came down off the hill the week the threshing machine broke, and nobody in Hobb's Cross could say which of those things was the bad omen. Mrs Tully swore it had six tails, the tips curled like shavings off a plane, and that its colour was the colour of the kiln fire on a Friday when the bread was going in.

Harold Penhale, who kept the forge by the bridge, went up the lane with a bucket of scraps and a lamp. He found the fox sitting in the ditch under the hawthorn, licking a burn on its foreleg. It did not run. It looked at him the way the vicar looked at a hymn he had not practised, then it stood and walked ahead of him down the lane, stopping each time he stopped, as if it were the one leading.
At the forge it sat by the cold anvil and watched him work the bellows until the iron went the colour of its own coat. He made a new hinge for the Tullys' gate that night, though nobody had asked him to. When the fox left at dawn, one of its tails dragged a scatter of sparks across the yard that did not go out until it rained.
Harold kept that hinge on his bench for forty years. Whenever someone asked what the fox had wanted, he said only that it had wanted to be seen home, and that was the whole of the bargain.
