Wolf, tiger and rose arm sleeve
Realism · Upper arm · Black and grey · Photo
A realistic black and grey sleeve runs from the upper arm down to the hand, with a wolf head near the top, a tiger face with fur detail below it, and a rose on the back of the hand and wrist. The shading is smooth and layered, with strong contrast in the eyes and fur. The arm is photographed from the side against a plain grey background, and the sleeve fills most of the frame.

The salt was already a day late when Ines Corrow saw the wolf sitting on the boulder above the switchbacks, its breath standing in front of it like a second animal. The mules smelled it before she did. They stopped with their ears flat, and the carter behind her swore in the old dialect and reached for his goad.

Nobody had told her about the crate. It had come up from the valley lashed to the last mule, a travelling menagerie's cage under a tarpaulin, and the man who sold her the passage said only that the showman had died of a fever in Tallow Bridge and the creditors wanted the thing gone. Something inside breathed slowly, like a bellows that had forgotten its rhythm. Every night since, she had heard it through the canvas.
At the summit the wind tore the tarpaulin clean off. A striped shoulder turned towards the light, and the wolf came down from its rock and stood at the edge of the path, grey as the cloud, watching the cat the way a shepherd watches a dog he does not yet trust. Ines had a letter in her coat from her brother, pressed flat, with a red rose folded inside from the last summer he had been home. She had meant to keep it. Instead she slid it between the bars with the cold salt still on her glove.
The tiger sniffed the paper, then the rose, and lay down with its chin on its paws. The wolf turned and trotted off down the far side without looking back. By the time the mules found their nerve, the tracks in the snow had already gone over the edge, leading the way down into the valley where the lights were.
