The cat is already perched on the coconut shy when you come back from the ferris wheel, sitting on the lip of the counter as if it paid for the pitch. Its scarf is grey and white stripes, knotted loose at the throat, and the tail hooks out behind it like a question mark. Mr Oduya says it arrived with the lorry in March and nobody has ever once seen it ride in a van.
