Disney castle, Minnie and Mickey on thighs
Thigh · Mixed · Photo
Two thighs show black outline tattoos: on the left, a castle with spires above a Minnie Mouse face wearing a pink bow, and on the right, a stained glass style panel with two princesses above a Mickey Mouse face. The linework is clean and uniform, with little shading, and the pink bow is the only colour. The legs are bare and bent at the knee, with a hand resting on the right leg and a cigarette held between the fingers.

"It came out of the chapel on the harbour wall," she said. "They sold the pews and kept the glass."

He spent the first hour simply looking. In the lower corner, half hidden by a fold of painted silk, two round-eared mice sat side by side, one with a pink ribbon tied at her ear. Nobody had ever explained them. Mrs Hollis said her mother had told her the mice lived in the castle at the top of the window and came down at night to mend the princesses' hems with their teeth. Tomasz had heard stranger things said about glass, and he did not argue.
He cut new came from a coil of lead, fitted the pieces back one by one, and soldered the joints while the afternoon light moved off the bench. When he turned the panel over to check the back, he found a sliver of paper tucked under the lead, soft as cloth, with three words in pencil: for the little one. There was no date. There was no name.
He set the pink-ribboned mouse back into her corner last, pressing the lead flat with his thumb. When Mrs Hollis carried the window to the front room and propped it in the bay, the low sun came through the ribbon first, and for a moment the whole floor was the colour of a sweet.
