Dragon Ball characters full sleeve tattoo

Upper arm · Colour · Photo

The three panels show the same arm from different angles, with a full sleeve of anime-style characters from Dragon Ball. Shenron's green serpentine body wraps around the shoulder and upper arm, with Goku, Vegeta, Krillin and Piccolo rendered in smooth, bold outlines and soft gradient shading. Bright yellow energy effects, orange dragon balls and purple star shapes fill the gaps, with the composition running from shoulder to wrist.

The holdall arrived at Ashbury Junction at twenty past eleven, wedged between a pushchair and a man asleep under a Sunday paper, and nobody came to claim it. You signed it into lost property at the end of your shift, under the buzzing strip light, and only then felt the weight of the seven hard spheres inside, each one warm as a teacup.

The first one you tipped onto the counter had four stars printed in its orange skin, and the second had three. By the time you had lined them up, the windows along platform four had gone the colour of a bruise, and the departure board stopped flickering as though something enormous had stolen its breath. Above the canopy, a green body unspooled through the clouds, scales catching the sodium light, and a voice like gravel in a biscuit tin asked what you wished for.

You were not ready. You had a list in your head: the rent, a sister in Leeds who never rang back, a kettle that needed descaling. What came out was smaller. You asked for the 06:12 to Leeds to leave on time, just once, and Shenron laughed so hard the ticket barrier rattled.

When the sky cleared, the spheres had gone dull and the holdall was empty. At twelve minutes past six the 06:12 pulled out of platform four exactly on time, and as it slid past the lost property window you glimpsed something green curled above the roof, watching the carriages go, as if it had been paid in advance and meant to collect.
