Marvin the Martian on upper arm
Upper arm · Colour · Photo
A cartoon Marvin the Martian stands front on, wearing his green helmet with an orange plume, black face with white angry eyes, red legs and large white and pink shoes. The bold black outlines and flat fills are cleanly shaded with green, red, orange and white ink. The design sits centred on the upper arm against a plain skin background.

The woman at the petrol halt called him Orrin, though he never gave his name himself. He stood by the water tank with his helmet tipped forward and his black face scowling at everything, the way a man scowls at a bill he cannot pay. He had come, he said, to find a copper key the size of a thumb, which had been swallowed by the mountains when his ship came down.
Nobody knew where the mountains kept such things, but the woman's brother did. He drove a flatbed of melons and knew every cattle grid between here and the salt flats. Together they drove the little martian up the wash, his red legs kicking below the dashboard and his plume bending in the wind. He never once looked at the view. He only glared at the rocks as though they had insulted his mother.
At the top of the pass they found the key in the hollow of a dead saguaro, bright as a coin. The martian turned it twice in his white hands, then offered it back, quite politely. "Keep it," he said. "I only wanted to know whether anyone would come looking."
