Monarch butterfly and script on the upper back
Lettering · Back · Mixed · Photo
A small, shaded monarch butterfly in orange, yellow and red sits near the shoulder blade, with black script lettering beneath it reading Love me for who i am. The butterfly has soft shading and dark outlines on its wings, while the lettering is a fine, flowing black script. The photograph is black and white apart from the coloured butterfly, with a hoop earring and hair visible at the top left of the frame.

By six the first trays came out, the crusts a deep marigold where the light had not yet reached the window. Dilys lifted one, tapped its base, and set it on the rack beside the others. The lad's loaf had a split like a torn orange wing, uneven and bright in the lamplight. She broke the heel off, handed it to him, and said it was the best thing he had made all month.
