Realistic pug portrait on upper arm
Realism · Upper arm · Colour · Photo
A realistic tattoo of a pug looking straight at the viewer, showing its wrinkled black muzzle, large dark eyes and folded ears. The face uses fine grey shading for fur and skin folds, while the body fades into softer tan and brown tones. The portrait fills most of the frame against a dark background.

Then came the winter the river froze solid below the mill, and the Halloran boys went out on it with a sledge and a dare. The ice sang under them. Halfway across, the youngest went through, no more than a splash and a yelp, and the current took him under the grey shelf where nobody could reach. Dolly was on the bank. Nobody knew she'd followed. She went in after him up to her shoulders, and I'll not tell you how she got him out, but she dragged that boy by his collar to the reeds, and then she sat on his chest and looked at him, quite unimpressed, until he coughed the river back up.
After that, the town said she'd earned her frown. Mrs Pargeter swore the dog had only been grumbling about the cold. And every Sunday after, when the Hallorans came up the lane with a tin of biscuits, Dolly would sit on the step and look at them with those big sad eyes, as if to say, I know what you did, and I know what I did, and we are square now. Pass me a biscuit, then. There. Off to bed with you.
