Script quotes on forearm and shoulder
Lettering · Forearm · Black and grey · Photo
The top photo shows a black script quotation, Don't live in fear of the future, across the inside of a forearm, with the lettering set on two lines. The bottom photo shows a second script quotation, 'Cause I'll always be there, on a shoulder, with the person wearing a pink top. Both tattoos use smooth black linework with solid ink and no colour.

Mam, the cook says the Baltic run will take eleven weeks, not six, and I've stopped counting days because it makes me sick. Don't write me about the chapel or Mrs Dunn's hip. Tell me about the gull on the washing line.

Writing back took the rest of the afternoon. She tried three openings and crossed out two. In the end she wrote what her own mother had once copied out for her on the day she married a man who went to sea: Don't live in fear of the future, love, it has enough of its own to be getting on with. Underneath, smaller, she added the thing she had been saving. 'Cause I'll always be there. Post it before the tide turns.
