Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Woodstock on upper arm
Fine line · Upper arm · Mixed · Photo
The tattoo shows Charlie Brown with his arms around Snoopy, who sits on a patch of grass beside him, with the small yellow bird Woodstock flying nearby. The linework is thin and black, with flat colour fills in yellow, red, white and pale blue for the ground. The design sits on the upper arm against a plain skin background, with a grey T-shirt sleeve and a dark backdrop.

The boy on the corner had lost the same sock three weeks running, and nobody on Alder Close believed a beagle could sulk properly. Biscuit managed it every afternoon from the patch of grass beside the postbox, chin on his paws, eyes rolled up towards the telegraph wire where Pip, the small yellow bird, kept landing to flick his enormous tail at him.

Pip was no help. He had a tail longer than the rest of him put together, and he used it to write rude messages in the air that only dogs could read. Biscuit read every one and pretended he hadn't, which everyone agreed was the most dignified thing a beagle could do on a Tuesday.
Wilf came out on Thursday with a jam sandwich in one hand and a shoebox in the other. He sat down heavily on the grass and announced that the sock had gone to live with the Hendersons' cat, that he was tired of pretending it was a tragedy, and that the dog could have the crusts if he stopped looking so pleased with himself. Biscuit took the crusts. Pip landed on the shoebox and stayed there, tail curled over the edge like a question.
That evening the wire hummed with a long yellow squiggle drawn across the dusk, the way the bird's tail always went when it was thinking about something kind. Biscuit slept with his back against the boy's knee, and nobody ever mentioned the sock again.
