Wonder Woman emblem on the ribs
Ribs · Mixed · Photo
The tattoo shows the Wonder Woman emblem, a stylised W with curved wing shapes, drawn with a bold black outline. The yellow and gold wings and the central W are shaded with soft red and orange gradients, giving a slightly dimensional look. It sits across the side of the torso, with the edge of a red polka-dot garment at the top of the frame.

Back when the Halloran Brothers Circus still had its red and gold banner up, a woman came to the gate on a grey Tuesday with a leather case under one arm and a letter of introduction folded so many times the creases had furred. She asked for work. Old Halloran looked her up and down and said there was no act left a person could pay to see. She said she didn't need paying, only a place to stand where the ground was level.
She stood in the sawdust ring that night and took off her coat. Gold cuffs caught the lamp at her wrists, and at the centre of her chest was a golden W with its wings spread wide, the black edges sharp as a blade. The crowd, which was four farmers and a dog, went quiet. She turned once, slowly, and the whole tent seemed to lean towards her.
Halloran's grandson swears the wings lifted off the cloth. I wasn't looking at the wings. I was looking at the tent poles, which stopped creaking the moment she raised her arms, and have never creaked since.
