Colour tattoo of a cartoon character with yellow pigtails, red lips and pink hearts above a teal banner reading Bad Bitch, on the outer thigh.

Cartoon character with banner on thigh

Neo-trad · Thigh · Colour · Photo

A cartoon-style character with a bald pink head, yellow pigtail-like hair, red lips and half-closed eyes sits above a red and orange collar with pink hearts and purple spots around it. A teal banner with the words Bad Bitch in black lettering runs across the bottom. The bold dark outlines and flat fills give it a playful, illustrative look, shown on the outer thigh against a plain light background.

A story inspired by this tattoo · fiction

Nobody at the studio ever asked Marjorie how she felt about the hair. Three tufts of butter-yellow, sticking out like a pair of ironing boards, above a head so smooth the lamp slid right off it. She had put up with it for eleven series. Then the new inker, Priya, gave her a bow at the back of the neck on a Tuesday, and Marjorie decided that was the end of the episode.

She walked out through the gutter of page nine, past the pink hearts that were meant to be hers and were not, and caught the number 14 to the launderette on Sorrel Street, where the dryers turned all night and nobody watched the telly. She took the window seat in her red collar and waited. A man folding towels glanced over, looked again, and said he used to watch her every Saturday. Marjorie gave him a long, flat look, lids half down, the look that had made a generation of children feel small, and he went very quiet and folded the same towel three times.

By closing she had a bus pass, a plan and a teal banner stitched across her chest that she had talked the seamstress into for nothing. It said what she had always been saying with her eyebrows. Nobody who knew her was surprised. Nobody who knew her had ever once asked her to smile.
