Deathly Hallows symbol on a forearm
Fine line · Forearm · Mixed · Photo
A single-line tattoo of a triangle, circle and vertical line, the Deathly Hallows symbol, is centred on the inside of a forearm. The linework is thin and slightly sketchy, with some strokes overlapping and extending past the shapes. Small purple and blue dots are scattered around the symbol for a watercolour-splatter effect against a plain, lightly lit background.

He offered the eldest a stick of ash, its tip split so it could draw a line that never quite stopped. The middle son was offered a pebble as round as a bramble berry, which held a ring of pale light if you turned it in the sun. The youngest was offered a grey cloak that would hide him from any door. He laughed and said he had no wish to be unseen, so the traveller gave him only a pot of blue and violet paint and walked on towards the river.
The eldest dragged his stick through the mud until the lines ran past every corner they were meant to meet, and his fences grew crooked with them. The middle son lost the pebble among the beans and never found it again, though he swore its light still came up through the soil on certain evenings. The youngest flicked his paint across the potting shed wall, and where the drops landed the bees came and the seedlings thickened.
Bet never said which of the three had chosen well. She only pointed at the shed wall, where a triangle had been scratched in charcoal with one stroke running long past its corner, and told them that if you stood still enough in the garden, the line would still be drawing itself.
