Fox face tattoo on thigh
Thigh · Mixed · Photo
A fox face is shown front-on with a small crown above and a gem pendant below, framed by curved ornamental lines. The linework is dark grey with soft grey shading across the muzzle and cheeks. Pale teal swirls around the lower outline add a small amount of colour to an otherwise grey composition.

A story inspired by this tattoo · fiction
The fox came to the orchard gate the week the frost took the pears, and it sat with its tail wrapped round its feet as though it had been invited. Mrs Ashdown's boy, Tom, was sent out with a bucket of windfalls and a wooden spoon, and he stood there with his mouth open until the fox spoke. It said its name was Vell and that it had come to buy a garden.

Tom ran back to the kitchen and told his mother. She laughed at him, then went to the drawer where the rent book was kept and counted what was there, which was four shillings and a button. The fox waited while she counted. When she came out again it had left a small silver pendant on the gatepost, round and pitted like a sloe, and a crown no bigger than a thimble sitting on the fence post beside it.
The pendant bought the garden. The crown, Mrs Ashdown found years later, was the reason the apple trees never failed again. Vell came every winter to sit at the gate and be paid in gossip, which it collected with great seriousness and never repeated. When old Mrs Ashdown died, Tom found the gate open and the fox asleep on the step, and it woke only long enough to ask whether the pears had come in.
