Love script tattoo on a finger
Lettering · Hand · Black and grey · Photo
A close photograph of the word Love written in a thin, black, cursive script along the side of a finger. The linework is single-weight and clean, with no shading, and the lettering runs diagonally across the finger. The hand rests on a pale turquoise fabric, and the dark nail polish contrasts with the skin and the lettering.

She took the oar home that afternoon, the one her husband had carved the autumn before the Mary Ann went down off the Foulness sands. The wind was coming off the estuary hard enough to lift the tarpaulin on the slipway, and she wrapped the blade in sacking so the paint wouldn't rub.
Harold kept the test scrap in his apron pocket for a month. Then he pinned it above the bench, beside his father's lining brushes, where it stayed. It was the only piece in the shop he never sold.
