Two keyblade designs are shown on the backs of the lower legs, photographed from behind. Each key has detailed shading and fine outlines, with ornate bows, teeth and chains, and the left one has leaf and star details. The words ONE SKY and ONE DESTINY sit above the keys in a serif lettering style on a plain, slightly dark background.

Dear Ysolde, the snow has shut the pass again, so I am writing this by the fire at the Hollin Inn with the shutters rattling like impatient guests. Mistress Varga has set our two keys on the mantel, where the lamplight catches the leaf-work on yours. She says a key that opens nothing is only bent iron, which is what Father used to say about the gate at Thornwick, and she gave me the look she keeps for lads who quote their fathers.

The old tale says the gatekeeper forged two keys from one bar of grey iron, one with a star hung from its bow and one with a chain of small links, and swore neither would turn alone. I thought it was a story for children until last week, when the Thornwick lock turned under my hand for the first time in forty years, because I had your key and mine together, teeth to teeth, in the dark.

The door did not open onto the courtyard. It opened onto a hall full of snow falling upward past the rafters, and at its far end a single lamp burned in a window that looked exactly like the one above your bed in Brindle Row. I stood there longer than I should have. Then the wind took the lamp and the door swung shut, and the iron stayed warm in my palm.

I am sending this with the carrier, but keep your key close. Whatever waits beyond that hall needs both of us to turn it, and I would rather tell you so than find out alone.
